United States of America (Press Release) October 3, 2007 --
The Hilton Oceanfront Resort has been selected as the Diva Hotel of Choice for the upcoming Baby Boomer Girlfriends Retreat in Daytona Beach, Florida.
“We are delighted that the Hilton wants to serve as the Host Hotel,” says event organizer Beverly Mahone. “They have enough space to accommodate our needs and have expressed enthusiasm in our coming there.” According to Mahone, the Hilton is offering one special "Diva Rate" to all Retreat guests no matter what size room they request.
The Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now Girlfriends Retreat is set for April 18-20. The fun-filled empowerment weekend will include a performance by actor/comedian Michael Winslow, who will offer up some non-stop laughs. Winslow, best known worldwide for his wacky role as officer Larvelle Jones in the "Police Academy" film series, will share his views of baby boomer women from a male perspective.
Along with the performance by Winslow, there will be lots of other activities including karaoke and dance contests, a mini-spa, exercise and pole dancing classes as well as interactive workshops on topics such as Shifting your Career Gears; Love & Relationships; Money Matters; Time Management; Doing it “Diva Style” Image Consulting, etc. In addition, an expert panel will discuss Baby Boomers in the New Millennium during the taping of a Town Hall meeting by PBS Station WCEU-TV and a formal introduction of the members of the Baby Boomer Diva Web of Fame will be made. But the highlight of the weekend, according to Mahone, will be the Over 40 Girlfriends PA-JAMMING PARTY.
The first 50 women who sign up during the Early Bird Registration (through December 31) will be admitted into the “exclusive” Town Hall meeting, invited to a private celebrity guest reception and receive an autographed copy of Mahone’s new book, which will make its debut at the Retreat.
Mahone encourages women to book their rooms early because a limited number have been set aside. "We also have Travel Agent Louis Jones with Traverus Travel working with us to help the ladies get to Daytona Beach," Mahone says. "We're ready to throw caution to the wind and have some fun!"
More celebrity guests will be announced in the near future.
