United States of America (Press Release) February 23, 2008 --
Brian Pasch, wine writer and critic, has just published his "Top 10 Wines to Buy Now"; a quarterly report on California wines. The top rated Cabernet Sauvignon in his quarterly report is the 2005 Hall Diamond Mountain Cabernet which Pasch scored 97 out of 100 points.
The stellar wine was made by Mike Reynolds; former winemaker for Hall Winery and now President of the winery and Richard Batchelor, current winemaker for Hall. The Diamond Mountain Cabernet is part of the Hall Artisanal Collection which consists of rare, small lot wines that are made available to the Hall Wine Club.
Hall had the distinction of having a second wine in the Top Ten; 2004 Hall Berfeld St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon which was rated 95 points. The Berfeld Cabernet according to Pasch “had the elegance and balance of a finely aged California Cabernet which would fool anyone in a blind tasting. The Berfeld Cabernet is perfect to enjoy today or to age for many years in the cellar. The Berfeld Cabernet reminded me of a great Dalla Valle Maya and could warrant a higher scores in years to come.”
In his report, Mr. Pasch outlines Ten Wines that wine enthusiasts and collectors should add to their wine cellars. Pasch suggests that his reports give consumers and wine collectors an added edge in finding great wines before traditional wine press reviews make it impossible to get on winery mailing lists. The highest rated wine by Brian Pasch in his report was 2006 Modus Operandi Antithesis which received a score of 99 out of 100 points.
